GODHATE Part Ways With Drummer, Announce Replacement
April 27, 2006Swedish death metallers GODHATE (formerly THRONEAEON) have parted ways with drummer and founding member Roger Sundquist. The band's official statement on the matter reads as follows:
"Roger has left the band for good!!! A few of you know that Roger has parted before and returned, but this time we all felt that it was for real.
"It's not an easy thing to find a good drummer who can replace such a good musician as Roger. And as he was the one who formed the band it's even harder to just say goodbye like that. He has meant a lot to the band and each member even though we have had different opinions on how to run the band.
"Roger has been important for the sound of GODHATE with his unique style of brutality and technics. There has never been any questions on how he should play and he was always cooperative when it came to write music. The only thing that made this parting a reality was that the last years Roger wasn't prepared to invest as much time in the band as the other of us. He's not dead, hell no, and I'm pretty sure he will still be a part of GODHATE somehow...
"As some of you may already know, we have found a new drummer who will replace Roger. His name is Masse Blückert and is the one who sat behind the drums during the gigs in Västerås and Copenhagen."
GODHATE last year issued their debut four-song EP, entitled "Anguish". The CD was recorded at Fast Forward Studio with Johan Green and the Kuusisto brothers from CARNAL FORGE at the helm.
